Our Secondary Talent Development instructional framework is used for both our middle and high school instructional programming. We have mixed aged configurations for both our core and elective classes. We currently have a block schedule where students will have 4 core (Math, English, Science and Social Studies) and 3 Elective or Academic Support. Students will also have an additional instructional classed called Instructional Support Block (ISB). Our ISBs are in direct alignment with our Talent Development Instructional Framework and separated into 3 separate categories focused on developing Talent, Growth or Preperation.
Our Science and Social Studies classes follow a three year cycle. Our Math classes have three different configurations: 6th and 7th grade mixed, 7th and 8th grade mixed or 8th and 9th grade mixed. Our ELA classes have two configurations 6th and 7th grade mixed and 7th and 8th grade mixed.
In addition to the standard Colorado and DPS graduation requirements we push to have all of our high students take Concurrent Enrollment (CE) courses. CE course are dual enrollment college level courses, we have teachers on staff that are qualified to teach at the college level and provide these courses on our campus. We currently offer CE courses for English, Math, Science and Social Sciences.
