Greetings! I hope this finds you well! Just a very brief message today to include a handful of reminders.
Monday, February 15th is a holiday! Three day weekend – hurray! Tuesday is a regular school day for our students. As we head into the Spring the DMHS calendar diverges from the DPS traditional calendar and our days off may be different. You can access the DMHS calendar here.
This week it’s been pretty cold and we’ve been indoors more than usual, but as we head into the Spring we are thinking forward to planting the farm, bees and chickens and rabbits, and getting the grounds in shape. Please look for some upcoming opportunities to volunteer and visit the school!
Thank you for reminding your student to complete the health and safety screener before entering the school building. It truly does support getting students in classrooms quickly. As always, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Warmly, Cori
The Farm School “Introduction to Journalism” class is beginning to publish their articles to the DMHS Newspaper/Blog! You can see them here as they are published, or by going to https://dmhsnews.blogspot.com/ and clicking the “Intro to Journalism” label on the right-hand column. Students are writing on a wide variety of topics of interest to them and the school community. Check it out!
The First Round School Choice process opened on January 15 at 8am and closes February 16. Please note that all current students will automatically be enrolled at DMHS for the 2021-22 school year.
No School on Monday, February 15 for President’s Day, but we do have school on Tuesday, February 16.

Each year it is a requirement that DMHS inform families about routine vaccinations. Linked here is an update with specific information in regards to Denver Montessori. Please take a moment to review.
DPS Launches Free Covid Testing
DPS is pleased to announce we are expanding our partnership with COVIDCheck Colorado to offer our free COVID-19 testing for students to support a safe return to school. Our full community of students and staff will now be able to take a baseline COVID-19 test before coming back to school, and then we will be able to offer an ongoing COVID-19 student screening test every other week.
Registering for testing can be completed at any of COVIDCheck Colorado’s testing sites via this link. We encourage everyone, unless you have tested positive in the last 90 days, to take a baseline test in the new year. The tests are free, fast, and reliable. You can see an updated list of testing sites here including sites at DPS schools at the Montbello campus, Abraham Lincoln Campus, North HS Campus, All City Stadium and a new site at George Washington HS. The test will be completed via nasal PCR test or SalivaDirect™, and results will be returned within 36-72 hours.
At any time, your family and your student can schedule a test at existing CCC sites. Any DPS student or employee should use our district link, while family members can continue to use the community link (https://www.primarybio.com/l/cdphe).
