School Starts Next Week!

Posted 08/09/2017
Dear DMHS Community,
The first day of school is just around the corner! During this week, your student’s advisor may be contacting you to say hello, especially if they are a new advisor for your student. Here are a few last minute details as you prepare for next week.
11th and 9th graders come for a half day on Monday. Buses will be running in the morning and will pick up the students from DMHS at 11:30 to return home.
Then all students join us on Tuesday. FYI, the current published bus pick up times are:
Denison (717):   7:26 a.m.     Return at 4:13 p.m.
Sandoval (717): 7:51 a.m.      Return at 3:53 pm
Lincoln (718):     7:22 a.m.      Return at  4:22  p.m.
Gilpin (718):       7:44 a.m.       Return at 4:00 p.m.
During the first few weeks, the times can vary by a few minutes. I recommend you arrive at least 5 minutes early. If the times change at all, we will send an email. Students hopefully will be receiving their plus passes at school next week. If they already have a pass, please make sure they carry their pass with them when riding the bus.
If you are dropping your student off or they are walking to school, please use the playground entrance on Raritan St. FYI, adult supervision on the playground starts at 8:00School starts at 8:10. Students arriving after 8:10 need to come in through the front door on Shoshone and sign in. End of day student pick up is also at the playground entrance on Raritan.
Back to School Night is Monday at 5:30. The mandatory trip meeting will also happen during this meeting. We will do a brief welcome to DMHS and then you will meet with your student’s advisors to go over student organization systems and the upcoming overnight trip.If you have not had a chance to register, please bring your forms to the Back to School Night.
High School trip (10th and 11th grade) is August 16 – 18. Farm School trip (7th, 8th, 9th grade) is August 22 – 24

August 25 is a half day for both programs with pick up at 11:30

Thank you all who came and helped out at the Back to School Work day and BBQ. Wow did we get a lot of stuff done! Plus we enjoyed an excellent lunch.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Carol, myself or your student’s advisor.
Looking forward to a great start to the school year,

Katy
