High School Director Leah Bry and the High School Team are putting together an information session for our 9th graders and their families in order to prepare them for the transition into 10th grade. The event will take place on-line on Thursday, May 14 at 5 -6:30 pm.
More detailed information including meeting logins will be sent out next week directly to our 9th grade families.
9th GRADE CONTINUATION -THURSDAY, May 28 AT 6 pm
We will hold a live streaming of our Continuation video on Facebook on May 28 at 6 pm. All 9th graders and their advisors will contribute to the video.
VIRTUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY – MONDAY, JUNE 1 AT 6 pm
Due to the uncertainty of when we will be able to hold a large in person event, and the importance of celebrating this huge milestone for our Class of 2020, we will create and hold a live streaming of our graduation ceremony on June 1 at 6 pm. Then, as soon as large in person events are again allowed, we plant to hold an in person celebration for our graduates that will be organized by the graduation committee.
Seniors will also have a diploma pick up ceremony at the Smedley Campus on Wednesday, May 27 at 1 pm. We are still receiving district guidelines on the details of both the ceremony and the diploma pick-up and will provide you with more information as we finalize things.
PERMISSION TO USE ZOOM
Several of our teachers would like to use Zoom for group lessons instead of google meets, and the District is working closely with Zoom to make sure this is a secure platform for our students. Recently, we were given permission to have Zoom as an alternative to Meets. However, in order to do this, we need your permission. Please fill out this short form to give your permission.
VIRTUAL STAFF APPRECIATION
The CSC and ELA-PAC have changed the Staff Appreciation Week to a virtual event. They are requesting that families write emails, send e-cards or videos of appreciation to DMHS staff members. In the sign-up, 3 families per staff member can sign up to send an email of gratitude in order for everybody to be included. STAFF APPRECIATION
MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOCIAL CONNECTIONS FOR STUDENTS
Now both Farm School and High School students have the opportunity to attend more funitivites! Advisors will be going over the opportunities with students on Monday. Lauren has also added a High School Personal Wellness Group that students can choose to attend.
The College Board continues to monitor the situation. They have now cancelled the June testing dates and are making plans to add more dates starting in September. Please see their website for more details . We will let you know as soon as we know the new DPS sponsored SAT date.
All AP Exams will be administered online and limited to 45 minutes, and will cover reduced content. For a complete schedule of the AP exams please see the AP Schedule.
We highly encourage our AP students to take the tests and to continue to work with your teachers on the preparing for the tests. If you have any questions on the AP tests or have decided not to take them, please reach out to our High School Counselor Jennifer_Fenton@dpsk12.net
