Rae (they/them/theirs or she/her/hers) is dedicated to social justice and sustainability. They came to DMHS with extensive Montessori experience, starting with their own Montessori education from first to eighth grade. Additionally, Rae was an assistant in Upper Elementary classrooms and a Math and Occupations Guide at Nature’s Way Montessori in Knoxville, TN. Rae holds a certificate from the AMI Orientation to Adolescent Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies from Tufts University. They also bring experience from four years as a farmer in Massachusetts. Before farming, Rae worked in outdoor education with middle school students for eight years. Rae is passionate about being outside, local botany, exploring science in our everyday lives, growing and preserving food, financial empowerment, and empowering young people to be the amazing and unique individuals they are in the world. Rae is thrilled to return to DMHS for the following year and to be advancing the public Montessori movement.
