Jessica is a very experienced teacher and will be attending the NAMTA / AMI Orientation to Adolescent Studies this summer. Her educational philosophy (project-based, student-centered, and service-oriented) developed primarily through the Highly Gifted and Talented Program for Westminster Public Schools where she was one of two teachers, teaching Math and Science to students in grades five through eight. Jessica has been happily married for fifteen years and has two daughters, two dogs, and two cats. Her hobbies include home improvement projects, crafting, traveling, and spending time with my family. This will be her fifteenth year of teaching in Colorado! She loves working with diverse populations, learning about different cultures, and guiding students through service learning projects related to political action and/or social justice. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's degree from Mary Washington College, with a double-major in Chemistry and Biology, a Masters degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Secondary Education, and a Masters degree from Adams State University in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. She is thrilled to be a part of the DMHS team!
